If you take one habit from this entire website, make it daily sun protection. It is the step that protects every other step, and in a country with as much sunshine as Pakistan, it matters all year. This page explains how to understand sunscreen labels and how to use sunscreen well. What it does not do, yet, is tell you this product's SPF or protection level, because those numbers must come from testing, not from us.

Why we are not showing an SPF number

An SPF value, a "broad-spectrum" claim and any water-resistance claim are results of laboratory testing carried out under specific standards. They also come with legal requirements in many markets. Until the tested label for this sunscreen is confirmed, we will not display any protection figures, and you should not buy it expecting a particular SPF. When the verified figures are available, they will appear on this page and on the label, and they will match exactly.

How to read a sunscreen label

Most sunscreen labels carry a few key terms. Here is what they generally mean:

TermGeneral meaning
SPFA measure mainly of protection against UVB, the rays most associated with sunburn
Broad spectrumIndicates protection against both UVA and UVB, according to a recognised test
Water resistantProtection is tested to last for a stated time while swimming or sweating, then needs reapplying
Mineral / chemical filtersDescribes the type of UV filters used

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's consumer page on sunscreen and sun protection explains these terms in more depth, along with other sun-safety habits.

The two most common mistakes

Using too little. Labelled SPF values are measured with a generous amount of product. Most people apply much less, which means they get less protection than the number suggests.

Not reapplying. Sunscreen wears off through sweat, rubbing and time. The American Academy of Dermatology's guide on how to apply sunscreen recommends reapplying regularly when outdoors and after swimming or sweating. The specific reapplication directions for this product will follow its verified label.

Who should wear sunscreen?

Everyone, regardless of skin tone. Deeper skin tones have more natural melanin, but that does not prevent sun damage, and uneven tone and dark marks often worsen with sun exposure. If you are using exfoliating acids, vitamin C or other appearance-focused products, daily sunscreen is what lets them do their job.

Texture and finish

We have not confirmed the texture, finish or whether it leaves a white cast. These will be described from the finished product.

How to use the Sunscreen

Directions for this product will appear here once its label is confirmed.

Where it fits

Sunscreen is the final skincare step in the morning, after moisturiser and before make-up. Shade, protective clothing and hats are valuable partners to sunscreen, not replacements for it. Our article on sunscreen basics explains daily habits in more detail.

Safety and suitability

Product-specific warnings will be published from the final label.

Avoid the eyes, stop using it if irritation develops, and ask a professional about sun protection for babies and young children.

Ingredients

The full ingredient list will be published here from the final label before this product goes on sale.

Frequently asked questions

What SPF is this sunscreen?

The SPF will be published only from the verified, tested label. We do not display unconfirmed protection figures.

Is it broad spectrum?

That claim depends on testing. It will appear on the label and this page only if verified.

Is it water resistant?

We make no water-resistance claim until it is tested and confirmed.

Do I need sunscreen indoors?

If you sit near bright windows or go outside during the day, sunscreen is still a sensible habit. UVA can pass through glass.

Can I skip sunscreen if my make-up has SPF?

Most people do not apply enough make-up to reach the labelled SPF, so a dedicated sunscreen is more dependable.

The habit that matters most

Sun protection is the least glamorous step and the most important one. The verified SPF, size and price for this sunscreen will appear here once confirmed.
